Pleasant Grove Family Safe After Garage Fire Extended Into Home

PLEASANT GROVE, Utah — A family in Pleasant Grove was able to make it out safely and with no injuries after a fire broke out in their garage and later extended into their home.
Units from the Pleasant Grove City Fire Department were dispatched Sunday afternoon to a fully-involved garage fire in the area of 1400 North and 400 West.
Units are currently on scene of a structure fire in the area of 1400 North and 400 West. Avoid the area.

Crews from American Fork and Orem fire departments were called in to assist.
Capt. Justin Whatcott with the Pleasant Grove City Fire Department said the homeowners were able to make it out safely thanks to bystanders. No injuries were reported.
Unfortunately, the family was displaced due to the damage caused by the blaze. They were reportedly being taken care of by nearby relatives Sunday night.
Officials said they don’t have an estimate on damages.
The cause was being investigated.
