Entrepreneur Nathan Holzapfel, known for his success selling belts after appearing on “Shark Tank,” is being charged with two counts of sexual abuse according to court documents.

Holzapfel was previously charged with fraud after swindling a woman out of $200,000.

According to a statement from Utah County Attorney, David Leavitt, “The Utah County Attorney’s Investigation Bureau is investigating these additional sex crimes as victims come forward as a result of the publicity generated from the fraud charges.”

As a result, charges were filed including two counts of forcible sexual abuse, a second degree felony.

Court documents state that on July 15, 2020 Holzapfel showed up at this woman’s place of business and pinned her against her car despite her protest that she didn’t want to be physical.

Holzpfel then sexually abused the woman  despite her multiple objections.

According to court documents, Holzapfel said, “he was bigger than her and that if he wanted to rape her, he would already have done it.”

In addition, Holzapfel texted the woman after the encounter asking if he had “gone from being “bada**” to just bad?” She responded saying that she had “pulled away” and “pushed away” and had told him she “did not want to be physical.” Holzapfel responded and said “he was sorry and thought they were just having a good time.”

Utah County Attorney, David Leavitt wants victims to know that “the charges alleged against this individual keep growing because we have victims coming forward and working with our investigation team. I’m so grateful for the courage of these victims.”

Patty Johnston, Chief of the Utah County Attorney’s Bureau of Investigations stated, “It took tremendous courage for this victim to come forward and report a sexual assault. I applaud her for that. She came forward with the hope that her bravery would inspire others to seek the  justice they deserve and prevent others from being victimized.”

“Victims often experience a tremendous amount of relief in being heard and believed. A thorough and impartial investigation was conducted and resulted in criminal charges being filed,” Johnson said.
