Search and Rescue crews respond to two separate calls involving ‘serious injuries’ Tuesday evening

SALT LAKE COUNTY – Two people had “serious injuries” in two separate accidents Tuesday evening, according to Salt Lake County’s Search and Rescue.
The first call was around 6:30 p.m at the Yellow Fork trailhead in Herriman for a biker that crashed.
Rescue crews said the biker sustained serious injuries, and Unified Fire Authority paramedics had to stabilize them before they could get the biker off the trail.
The biker was sent to the hospital by ambulance.
The second call happened around 8 p.m. at Lisa Falls in Little Cottonwood Canyon.
A hiker fell a “considerable distance” and landed in a small pool about halfway up the falls, according to rescue crews.
This hiker also had serious injuries and needed help getting out.
Crews rappelled to the hiker, stabilized them, and lowered them to the ground.
The hiker was transported to a hospital by ambulance.
All rescue crews were off the mountains by 12:30 a.m. Wednesday.
