Shopping ’til you drop at Olympic Super Store

PYEONGCHANG, South Korea — It’s an attraction nearly as big as the events themselves.
At every Olympics, it’s a must for anyone who goes to the games to get some stuff.
I’ve got to buy a lot for the KSLAM team back home. Hats and shirts are standard, but I don’t have standard colleagues.
We have found the Lori Prichard special: the officially licensed product of PyeongChang 2018, seaweed strips with almonds.
This animal hat would be good for Haley Smith.
Then we run into someone who reminds us of home.
Nick lived in Cottonwood Heights and Sugar House. He’s at the Super Store shopping for his friends and family.
“I walked in and was just like, wow, holy smokes, this thing is huge,” he says.
I ask him for some advice on what to get my co-anchor, Lori.
There’s some sort of fork set. Nick tells me it’s for fruit — a good idea for Lori, who’s very health-conscious.
Next I find a trendy PyeongChang 2018 North Face jacket. But it might not be warm enough for Shara Park out on big breaking news days.
I switch it out for the official poncho of PyeongChang.
Another option for Lori — your very own manicure set. Lori’s always painting her fingernails on set.
And a Soohorang stuffed animal — that’s the mascot for the PyeongChang Olympics. He’s even wearing a pair of skis and goggles. Perfect for by baby son, Hunter, back home.
Haley always loves doing the traffic in her slippers. A new pair of slippers for Haley — I think that’s a perfect option.
And roses! For a happy Valentine’s Day to everyone back home.
