WEST JORDAN, Utah — A man is dead after a crash in West Jordan. Now police are looking into if the driver was in the same car involved in a police chase with another agency earlier Wednesday night.
West Jordan Police Lt. Jeremy Robertson says officers were called to the intersection of 1300 West and Winchester Street at 11:45 p.m.
“The vehicle was headed westbound and just continued to travel through the intersection, and hit the rock on the other side where the intersection didn’t continue through,” said Lt. Robertson, who doesn’t know if the driver tried to brake or not.
He says Murray Police was the first to respond. The man, who has yet to be identified, was found dead at the scene of the crash.
Lt. Robertson says police are also looking to identify the vehicle.
“We were notified by the Gang Unit that they had chased a similar vehicle. They weren’t able to identify it by the license place, but a similar vehicle just a little ways up the road,” he said.
That agency has called off the pursuit because of safety concerns and did not witness the crash.
