Former Latter-day Saint Bishop Charged With Sex Abuse

DRAPER, Utah – An arrest warrant is now out for a former bishop of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints who is accused of sexually abusing a boy.
According to court documents, Jeffrey Byron Head, 54, sexually assaulted a boy in his Draper congregation on multiple occasions. It reportedly began around May 2017.
The documents state he was lewd around other boys as well.
Head is charged with two counts of forcible sexual abuse and two counts of lewdness.
“Abuse of any kind cannot be tolerated in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints,” according to a statement released by a Church spokesperson. “Anyone who engages in such behavior is rightfully subject to criminal prosecution and will also face discipline from the Church…”
“Upon learning of these allegations, we took steps to notify authorities and to support their investigation into this matter,” the statement continued. “This individual was immediately removed from any position in the Church.”
