FrontRunner, Car Crash In Orem

OREM, Utah – A car in a crossing at 400 South and 1843 West in Orem was struck by a south bound FrontRunner train Thursday morning at approximately 8:30 a.m.
A vehicle was upside down, and the passenger had to be extricated, according to UTA.
“According to the reports I have received the car rolled several times and came to a stop upside down. First responders extricated the passenger of the vehicle,” said UTA spokesperson Carl Arky. “All indications are, at this time, that the warning signals were all functioning properly and the arm at the crossing gate was down and in position.”
It is believed there was only one person in the car. Orem police accompanied the injured person to the hospital.
The 62 year old man involved in the incident has since passed away, according to UTA.
