FIRE WATCH: Crews Making Progress On Multiple Wildfires Burning In Utah

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – Despite all the rain and cooler temperatures, there are still wildfires burning throughout the state.
The good news is firefighters are making progress.
Meadow Creek Fire
The lightning-caused Meadow Creek Fire burning just south of Fillmore is now 45% contained. It has burned approximately 4,000 acres.
More than 200 firefighters are working on the incident. A Type 2 Team took over command, which dedicates more resources to the wildfire.
Neck Fire
The Neck Fire, also caused by lightning, is burning 15 miles north of Cedar City. It is now 67% contained.
The wildfire has burned more than 19,000 acres. No structures have been damaged and none are currently at risk.
