FRUIT HEIGHTS, Utah – Rain and cooler temperatures helped firefighting efforts at the Francis Fire currently burning in Davis County, officials said.
According to an update from the U.S. Forest Service, Tuesday’s rain slowed fire behavior significantly. Currently, fire activity is limited to internal burning in areas already within the 365-acre perimeter.
Officials said Wednesday the fire is 68% contained and no new growth occurred.

“Intrusions into the closed area distracts personnel from fire suppression duties,” according to the update.
The following areas are closed:

- Adams Canyon Trail
- Wasatch Shooters Gun Range
- Bonneville Shoreline Trail from Bair Canyon to Adam’s Canyon
