Man In Serious Condition After Auto-Pedestrian Crash On Redwood Road

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – A man is in serious condition after he was hit by a car while crossing Redwood Road Monday night.
The incident happened in the area of 3850 South at approximately 10 p.m., according to the West Valley City Police Department.
WVCPD Lt. Shane Matheson said the pedestrian was not crossing at a designated crosswalk when he was struck by the vehicle. The man, who Matheson said is in his mid 20s, suffered serious injuries and was transported to the hospital where he was immediately taken into surgery.
The driver is a male, also in his mid 20s. He was not suspected of being impared and will likely not face any charges, Matheson said.
Authorities are unsure if the pedestrian was impaired.
