WASHINGTON CITY, Utah – A man has died from injuries he sustained after a car crashed into a southern Utah In-N-Out, according to Lieutenant Kory Klotz with the Washington City Police Department.
The victim from Saturday’s incident was identified as Antonio Mendoza from Las Vegas, Nevada.
Mendoza was seated inside the restaurant where the vehicle struck the building, Klotz said.
Officers were called out to the parking lot near the restaurant around 2:45 p.m. Saturday to respond to reports of a pedestrian being hit by a car.
Klotz said after the first incident, the vehicle accelerated and collided with the In-N-Out, striking people inside the restaurant.
Four people were taken by ambulance to the Dixie Regional Medical Center and three self-transported to the same hospital.
The In-N-Out sustained significant damage and will remain closed pending repairs to the structure.
Klotz said the incident is under investigation and asked any witnesses to contact police at 435-986-1515 if they haven’t already provided a statement.
