SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – Crews with the Washington County Sheriff’s Office Search and Rescue were able to help a group of stranded hikers and used drones to provide lighting during the search.
The hikers had gotten off trail and were “ledged up,” according to search and rescue volunteers.
Crews were able to find them and provide assistance while the drones provided lighting during the dark December night.
“The volunteers on the ground do all of the hard work. But, once again, the drones came in handy to provide scene lighting to hopefully make the job a bit easier,” officials said in a Facebook post from Tuesday.
