SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – Snowfall has created issues on both I-15 and I-5 through mountain passes in California.
The winter weather has even forced the closure of I-15 between Las Vegas and Los Angeles.
The California Department of Transportation is urging travelers to avoid the Cajon Pass after at least 150 cars and trucks got stuck.
Interstate 5 is closed over Grapevine Pass, which is northeast of Los Angeles. The closure has been in place since Christmas night because of heavy snow and multiple stuck vehicles. There’s no estimate yet on when it’s expected to re-open.
Expect closures on the I-15 in Primm to last most of the day. CHP is responding to numerous incidents and road closures. The good news is we have plenty of room for everyone to stay here in Las Vegas for a extra day. https://t.co/k5FdUo1kNC

Heavy winds have also been an issue for motorists.
Those areas in Southern California remain under a Winter Storm Warning.
Holiday travelers in L.A., Las Vegas, Phoenix, Salt Lake City and San Francisco could see weather-related delays continue through Thursday and Friday, according to CNN meteorologist Michael Guy.
