Sandy City Police Announce Death Of Chief O’Neal

SANDY, Utah – Officials with the Sandy City Police Department announced that Chief William O’Neal died on Sunday.
“It is with heavy heart and deep regret to inform you of the untimely passing of Chief William (Bill) O’Neal,” police said in a statement. “Chief O’Neal passed away at 4:30 p.m. on Jan. 12, 2020.”
Information regarding details of O’Neal’s will be forthcoming and Deputy Chief Greg Severson will be acting as interim chief.
Sandy police asked the public to keep O’Neal’s family in their thoughts and prayers at this time.
No further information was released.
