SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – Utah legislators are — again — considering to do away with setting clocks backward or forward twice a year.
Sen. Wayne Harper, R-Taylorsville, is sponsoring a bill that would keep The Beehive State on Daylight Saving Time all year once the federal government gives the go-ahead.
It’s scheduled for a committee hearing next week.
Similar bills have been introduced in past legislative sessions. In the 2019 session, Rep. Rob Bishop sponsored a bill called the “Daylight Act,” which would have given states the choice to stay on Daylight Saving Time year round, stay on Standard Time year round, or continue switching back and forth as most states do now.
