Tornado Warning Extended Along I-84, I-15 In Southern Idaho

MALTA, Idaho – A tornado warning was extended along parts of Interstates 15 and 84 in southern Idaho, according to the National Weather Service.
The severe, tornadic thunderstorm was detected near the Utah-Idaho state line Thursday afternoon, and officials said it was moving east at 40 to 45 mph.
The warning remained in effect until 3:15 pm for northwestern Oneida, southwestern Power and southeastern Cassia counties. Part of Franklin and Oneida counties were included in the warning through 3:45 p.m.
Radar indicated rotation had begun in the area and officials urged anyone in the area to seek shelter immediately. The storm was also producing hail up to two inches in diameter.
“Flying debris will be dangerous to those caught without shelter,” the NWS tornado warning stated. “Mobile homes will be damaged or destroyed. Damage to roofs, windows, and vehicles will occur. Tree damage is likely.”
