Police Seek Help Identifying Suspect Man Injured In Magna Shooting

MAGNA, Utah – One man was taken into custody after a shooting early Tuesday in Magna, authorities said.
Police responded to the area of 3500 South and Mason Vista Way after a call of shots fired at approximately 2:15 a.m.
According to a statement from the Unified Police Department, a 29-year-old man was shot and is in critical condition at a local hospital.
Police were able to make an arrest based on witness testimony as well as some items the suspect may have left behind at an area 7-Eleven, said UPD Sgt. Melody Gray.
Juan Ledezma-Avila, 18, was taken into custody. He was booked into the Salt Lake County Jail on suspicion of aggravated assault, felony discharge of a firearm, obstruction of justice and reckless endangerment.
Officers said they were looking for a second suspect involved in the shooting.
UPD arrested 18-year-old Guillermo Herrera of Millcreek and booked him into the Salt Lake County Jail a few days later.
