The Canal Fire joined the Antelope and Rock Path fires, which were started by lightning in Millard and Beaver counties.
Those blazes had burned a combined 9,000 acres and crews planned to let them burn into one, large fire that will be called the Rock Path Fire.
Over 170 personnel had responded to those fires on the ground and in the air.
No structures were threatened by the Rock Path Fire but state Route 257 has been closed in the area.
