MORGAN COUNTY, Utah – A team of divers and others who have helped families locate loved ones, who were long missing, came to Utah from Oregon, after hearing the pleas of one woman who lost her brother 36 years ago.
The group “Adventures with Purpose” was at East Canyon reservoir today, responding to pleas for help from a family member of Michael Lloyd Reese, who never returned from a trip to the reservoir in 1985, with his friend, David Jaramillo.
Jared Liesek, along with a group of friends, started the YouTube Channel “Adventures With a Purpose” in 2018. They started with smaller things that went missing in the water which led to accidentally finding a car.
“One car turned into 25, 25 turned into 100, and families started seeing that we had this ability to find, locate, and float vehicles,” said Liesek.
Thunder Alexander was only seven years-old when her 14-year-old brother and his friend went missing. She had hoped that they would find the car the boys were last seen in.
The car they found today though, was not the one they were looking for. They’ve brought up a car door, and are working to bring up the rest of the car right now. The hope is that with this find, maybe they can help another family answer some lingering questions.
“I’m not giving up. I’m going to continue looking,” said Alexander. “Even though they’re not in the water… they’re somewhere. And I want closure, so the only way to do that is to find them.”
