Fatal accident temporarily closes Bangerter Parkway

DRAPER, Utah – Draper police confirmed an elderly woman died in a crash on Bangerter Parkway Tuesday afternoon.
The woman was driving her SUV up a hill around 1 p.m. when she hit a dump truck going in the opposite direction.
The crash closed Bangerter Parkway from 300 East to Highland Drive. It’s not known when it will reopen. Draper police said to monitor Twitter for updates.
Police have not released the woman’s name but did say she was 78 years old.
Emergency workers were examining the truck driver. Police said he was distraught.
An investigation continues.
