Police: Man stabbed by friend during altercation in West Valley City

WEST VALLEY CITY, Utah — A man was transported to the hospital Friday night after police said he was found with stab wounds in West Valley City.
The incident happened at an apartment building near 5700 West and Sandbar Street around 8 p.m.
Lt. Sean McCarthy with the West Valley City Police Department said the victim had been stabbed “a few” times, but did not identify where the wounds were on his body.
He was then transported to the hospital where he received treatment for his injuries.
McCarthy said the suspect, who was located at a different hospital, told police he had been in a physical altercation and ended up stabbing his friend.
The victim confirmed the suspect’s story, according to McCarthy, and declined to press any charges.
He also asked police to drop the case.
