One person killed in Salt Lake City shooting Sunday

SALT LAKE CITY – The Salt Lake City Police Department is investigating a fatal shooting.
Police said it happened at 130 South and 800 West around 9:20 a.m. Sunday.
When officers arrived, they found one person with a gunshot wound.
Life-saving measures were administered, but police said the victim died on scene.

Additional officers were then called in to search the area for any other victims or suspects.
At this time, no arrests have been made, according to police.
“Through the preliminary investigation, it appears this is an isolated incident and there is no imminent danger to the public,” read a press release Sunday from SLCPD.
Anyone with information about the incident has been asked to call police at 801-799-3000 and reference case number 22-13510.
Police identified the victim Monday as 50-year-old Anetupou Niualiku.
