Two men from Wisconsin, one in now in custody and one sentenced for their role in trafficking a Utah teen for prostitution.
Adrian Edwards was arrested this week in Arizona according to court documents while the other man, Jason Jordan was sentenced to four years in federal prison for conspiracy to traffic a minor followed by ten years of supervised release a statement reveals.
On Feb. 2, 2021 police were called to the Staybridge Inn in Madison Wisconsin over a guest who had overstayed past checkout. When police checked the room at the hotel, they found a lone teenage girl. In interviews the girl explained that she traveled by train from Utah to Iowa on Jan. 13, 2021. She was picked up at the train station by a man, who police think was Edwards, who transported her to Wisconsin. Since her arrival, she had been engaging in commercial sex acts for the Edwards every day.
According to a plea deal for Jordan, he once stayed with the victim when Edwards was out of town. Jordan also posted an online ad for commercial sex with a photo of the victim and Edwards’ phone number. The victim confirmed she was taken to a hotel that night to perform a commercial sex act and gave the money to Jordan.
The plea deal states for his involvement, Jordan “received drugs from the trafficker.”
Police later found an ad placed on Jan.20-21 containing the minor’s picture and with Edwards’ phone number.
According to court documents, Edwards will face charges of sex trafficking, transportation of a minor for prostitution, and conspiracy to commit sex trafficking.
