SOUTH JORDAN, Utah — A 62-year-old woman was killed in a collision with a school bus Wednesday on the Mountain View Corridor. Jordan School District said there were no children on the bus.
The bus driver was not injured but was shaken according to police. South Jordan police said the driver of a Honda passenger car ran a red light at the intersection and was hit by the bus and killed.
The collision took place at the Mountain View Corridor southbound and Daybreak Parkway, stopping traffic in the area. Drivers face long traffic delays and are urged to avoid the area. Police are diverting traffic from Mountain View to get around the crash.
Medical and police teams responded to the scene of the crash. The bus and car remained upright. The woman has not been identified.
