Two teens arrested in connection with Draper shootings last weekend

DRAPER, Utah – Draper Police Chief John Eining announced two arrests in connection with the shooting deaths of two men following a house party early Sunday.
Eining said Draper detectives and U.S. Marshals agents arrested an 18-year old male in Lehi around 1:30 Thursday. He would not release that person’s name because the suspect was a juvenile at the time of the shootings.

At the same time, Draper detectives and Marshals arrested 18-year-old Ashtyn Ortega at a home in Herriman.
The minor has been booked into the juvenile detention center.
Ortega was booked into the Salt Lake County Jail.
The two victims were identified as 27-year-old Austin Terry Powell and 21-year-old Jonathan July Fuentes.
They were shot as a party ended at an Airbnb rental near Vista Way and Cranberry around 1 a.m. Sunday.
