SALT LAKE CITY — A 38-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of stabbing another man in Pioneer Park Thursday morning according to police.
Salt Lake City Police Department said the investigation began at 12:43 p.m. Thursday when they received a call about a man who had been stabbed.
The victim was located at a nearby business with a non-life-threatening stab wound to his upper body and paramedics transported him to a local hospital.
According to a statement from police, “After broadcasting the suspect’s description, responding officers quickly located the suspect, identified as Makuthe Deng, and safely took him into custody.”
It seems the men, who are acquaintances, got into some sort of fight and Deng stabbed the victim.
Deng was booked into the Salt Lake County Metro Jail on charges of aggravated assault, possession of drug paraphernalia, public urination, and public intoxication.
The victim’s name is not being released.
