Man found dead after SWAT response

SALT LAKE CITY – A man was found dead in an apparent suicide after police responded to a sexual assault involving a minor on Monday afternoon.
According to the Salt Lake City Police, they responded to the report near Cavallo Drive and 1700 North. Police said it was not at a home.
They were told that the suspect had multiple firearms and, when they arrived, heard a gunshot. SWAT was called in and found the man dead in the garage.
Northwest Middle School and nearby residents were placed in lockdown for about an hour.
The tactical situation is over. SWAT officers located a man deceased from a self-inflicted gunshot wound. The scene is now secured. Detectives are responding to investigate. Updates will be provided in a press release. No PIO is available for interviews. #slc #slcpd #saltlakecity

Since this case involves a minor and sexual assault, information on the victim and suspect will not be released.
