OREM, Utah – Police are looking for a person of interest that’s possibly involved in Saturday’s shootout with Orem police.
According to the Orem Police department, they are searching for a female in a pink dress with tattoos that walked away from the scene.
Police are also looking for other witnesses from the car crash that led to the shooting and the shooting itself.
On Saturday morning, 35-year-old Gene Patrick Contreras fled from a car crash near 1000 South and 100 East, where he broke into a bystander’s home.
When Orem police found Contreras, he barricaded himself in the home, and both police and Contreras exchanged gunfire.
He surrendered to police and was injured during the shootout.
Contreras has been released from the hospital and is in the Utah County Jail, according to Orem police.
