SALT LAKE CITY — State troopers closed southbound lanes on Interstate 215 and Legacy Parkway as power crews worked to fix power lines that were damaged in a crash Monday morning.
Officials with the Utah Highway Patrol said a semi-truck sideswiped a vehicle that was on an I-215 shoulder, lost control and struck a utility pole, which dropped the power lines to dangerously low levels.
Troopers reported the driver of the stopped vehicle suffered minor injuries and the semi-truck’s driver was not hurt in the crash.
RIGHT NOW: SB 215 South of the Legacy merge will be shut down for the next 2-3 hours while Rocky Mountain Power gets lines straightened out.

Southbound Legacy Parkway was closed at 500 South in Woods Cross while southbound I-215 West was closed near 2300 North in Salt Lake City.
Troopers originally hoped to have the road reopened by 11 a.m. Monday, but power crews were able to fix the lines early, and roads began reopening before 8 a.m.
Traffic backed up into Davis County on southbound I-15, which was the only corridor letting drivers into Salt Lake City during the morning commute.
A vehicle fire added to the delays on I-15 near the westbound I-80 interchange.
UPDATE: State trooper tells us now the road is BACK OPEN.
