Woman injured in SLC auto-pedestrian crash; police investigating

SALT LAKE CITY — A 64-year-old woman was critically injured Friday after she was struck by a car in Salt Lake City.
The incident happened at 12:16 p.m. near Redwood Road and North Temple Street.
When officers arrived on scene, they found the woman on the ground. She was then transported to a local hospital in critical condition, according to a press release from the Salt Lake City Police Department.

“Based on the preliminary investigation, officers believe the van, traveling north on Redwood Road, hit the woman as she rode a bicycle across Redwood Road against the traffic signal,” the release stated.
Police said the driver of the van remained on scene and is cooperating with the ongoing investigation.
