RIVERDALE, Utah — A 47-year-old man died after the riding lawn mower he was using fell off a terrace, according to Assistant Chief Casey Warren with the Riverdale Police Department.

Warren said the man was mowing along the edge of the lawn near some steep boulder terraces when it went over the edge.

The homeowner called authorities, who responded to the scene Thursday afternoon. The victim sustained serious injuries in the incident, and first responders declared him dead at the scene.

Warren called the incident a tragedy and expressed sympathy for the man, who was “just trying to go to work and make a living” for his family.

The victim’s name was not released by police.
