WEST POINT, Utah — Officials with the North Davis Fire District say a West Point home is “a total loss” after a Tuesday morning fire.

Battalion Chief Mark Becraft said firefighters responded to the home, located near 4300 West and 800 North, around 2:30 a.m.

When crews arrived, the roof of the garage was fully engulfed in flames and had spread to the home’s attic.

Becraft estimated the damages to the home to be at least $400,000, and investigators have not released a cause for the fire.
