The joint release states that over the course of the investigation, multiple people have been interviewed and multiple arrests have been made for unrelated warrants and crimes that have been discovered during this process.
Police began investigating the possibility of Dylan being the victim of a crime around mid-June.
According to the release, “The current totality of information gathered from the many interviews and searches, along with the analysis of both physical evidence and forensic data, has identified James Brenner as a suspect. Brenner is currently being held in the Weber County Jail on unrelated federal firearm charges. No criminal charges have been filed specifically regarding the Dylan Rounds case. ”

Family members reported Rounds missing from his home on Memorial Day. Rounds, 19, is originally from eastern Idaho but has been living in Lucin, Utah, working to farm the land on his family’s property.
His mother, Candice Cooley, said he was last seen in Montello, Nevada, on May 26 and last heard from on Saturday, May 28 when he called his grandma early in the morning. They believe he was at his farm in Lucin at the time.
He told his grandma he would call her back later that day but never did.
