Multiple cougar sightings reported in West Valley City

WEST VALLEY CITY, Utah — West Valley City officials are urging residents to be aware after multiple cougar sightings have been reported in the city.
Over the past several weeks, cougars have been spotted in the areas of:
- 6000 West 3500 South
- 4500 West 3080 South
- 4400 South 3200 West
West Valley City Government posted on social media, encouraging residents to take precautions, including:
- Keeping pets inside
- Keeping pet food stored away
- Being in groups when walking
- Watching kids when outdoors
Anyone who sees a cougar has been asked to contact the Utah Division of Wildlife Resources at 801-538-4700 or the West Valley City Police Department at 801-840-4000.
