Police: Three arrested after aggravated robbery in SLC

SALT LAKE CITY — Three people who allegedly worked together to rob a man at gunpoint at a Salt Lake City hotel have been arrested, according to police.
Officers with the Salt Lake City Police Department said they received a call from the victim reporting two men assaulted him at gunpoint and stole personal items and his car at a hotel located near 200 N. Jimmy Doolittle Road early Sunday morning.
Investigators learned the two suspects confronted the victim as he walked into a hotel room with a woman, and detectives confirmed the woman and two men “acted in concert to steal the man’s property.”
Police searched the area but did not locate the suspects, and paramedics treated the victim for minor injuries.
At approximately 7 a.m. Monday, officers located the victim’s stolen vehicle near 1100 West and 600 North and took the 17-year-old driver into custody.
With help from the SLC SWAT Team, officers later served two search warrants and took 29-year-old Jayson Boal and 28-year-old Anthony Penegar into custody.
Penegar and Boal were booked into the Salt Lake County Metro Jail on charges of aggravated robbery and aggravated kidnapping while the teenager was booked into juvenile detention.
