Multiple shots fired in fight outside party in Roy Saturday

ROY, Utah — Police are investigating a shooting that involved several shots fired outside an event center near 5400 South and 1950 West in Roy.

Officers responded to the scene 11p.m. Saturday where they discovered a party was being held nearby, many people had left.

“The party goers from that event were outside and a fight had taken place, some kind of argument or fight, and at some point during that fight multiple shots were fired,” Sgt. Josh Taylor of Roy City Police said.

The fight continued down the street where witnesses say more shots were fired.

Officers were able to find 7 shell casings on the road, but did not see signs of damage to any property or vehicles. There were no injuries reported. Police do not know what was shot, if anything.

Police received conflicting information from the people there and will continue the investigation.
