Motorcyclist dies after multi-vehicle crash in Roy

ROY, Utah — A 25-year-old motorcyclist died Monday after he was involved in a crash with two other vehicles in Roy.
Officials with the Roy City Police Department said at approximately 10 p.m., an officer observed a motorcycle traveling southbound on 1900 West at about 5400 South “driving recklessly and at a high rate of speed.”
The officer, that was traveling northbound, turned around to initiate a traffic stop. While heading southbound, the officer found the motorcyclist had crashed with two other vehicles at 6000 South and 1900 West.
Despite lifesaving measures provided on scene, the motorcyclist died from his injuries.
Police said two passengers from the other vehicles involved were transported to McKay-Dee Hospital, where they were treated and released.
The victim’s identity has not been released.
