Driver dies after two-car crash in Uintah County

UINTAH COUNTY, Utah— One person died Friday night following a head-on collision at the Green River Bridge, about 10 miles south of Naples, Utah.
The crash happened near mile marker 32 on state Route 45 at approximately 8:32 p.m.
According to a press release from the Utah Department of Public Safety, a white Mitsubishi Lancer was traveling southbound when it crossed the center line and struck a northbound-moving white Chevrolet Silverado head-on.
The driver of the Lancer, who was the only occupant in the car, was not wearing a seat belt and died on impact.
On Monday, UHP identified the killed driver as 28-year-old Skylar Marrello from Casper, Wyoming.
DPS said the driver of the Silverado, who was the sole occupant, was treated on scene and released “without significant injury.”
The crash remains under investigation.
