UPDATE: Unified Police confirmed that they found and arrested Jonathan Moises Wuanloxten Hidalgo, 20, in Ogden. He was sent back to Salt Lake County to be interviewed by police before being booked into jail.
MIDVALE, Utah — Police are asking for the public’s help in locating 20-year-old Jonathan Moises Wuanloxten Hidalgo, who is accused of stabbing his ex-girlfriend and then abducting a 4-year-old child.
Salt Lake County Sheriff Rosie Rivera said the aunt of 4-year-old Anabella Porto Carrero, the victim of Friday night’s AMBER Alert, called her ex-boyfriend and asked for a ride. He picked the two girls up, stabbed the aunt inside his car, then dragged her out of the car and left her in the road.
He then took off with the child.
An AMBER Alert was issued.
Just got word the child was found.

Shortly after it went out, Hidalgo’s car was found — either by the Utah Transit Authority or Utah Highway Patrol — near 3300 South and Interstate 15. Rivera said Hidalgo and the 4-year-old girl were not inside the vehicle.
Within minutes, someone called police and said they had the child, who was found near where the stabbing occurred. Hidalgo, however, has not been found.
The investigation is still continuing here in Midvale. This is at the intersection of Bingham Junction Boulevard in Tuscany View Road. The amber alert is over, but everything that happened is still being looked into. We should have an update from @UPDSL soon. @KSL5TV at 10 pic.twitter.com/O0zfYR2WEx

“This is a very violent crime,” Rivera said.
Police have Hidalgo’s vehicle, so they do not know what vehicle he’s in or if he’s running.
“The best thing for him is to turn himself in because we’re going to find him,” Rivera said.
He is described as 5 feet 8 inches, 180 pounds, with black hair.
“Somebody that would just stab someone, leave them in the streets, and then drop off a child in the near area in this weather, in the dark, we’ve got to find this guy. He needs to be caught.”
Rivera said the stabbing victim is 20 years old and in very critical condition.
So far, the child is OK, but police will have her examined to make sure.
