Winter weather advisory in effect for northern Utah; some schools delayed

SALT LAKE CITY — More snow is expected to fall across parts of northern Utah Thursday morning while drivers have dealt with slick, icy road conditions.
A winter weather advisory is in effect through 11 a.m. Thursday for the Tooele and Rush valleys, the northern Wasatch Front and the Salt Lake and Utah valleys.
“Snow on the roads will result in hazardous travel during the early morning. Snow will continue in some locations during the morning commute,” the advisory read.
These areas could see another 2″ to 4″ of snow.

Schools delayed
Multiple school districts have announced two-hour delays for Thursday’s classes.
- Davis School District
- Ogden School District
- Weber School District

Ascent Academy Farmington (start time 10:30 a.m.)
- Syracuse Arts Academy

Spectrum Academy Charter School campuses in North Salt Lake
AM kindergarten will be in session while AM preschool will not be in session for the Weber School District.
The Provo School District said it will be adjusting middle school and elementary school start times due to worsening road conditions on the benches for its buses.
A.M. and P.M. kindergarten and preschool classes are cancelled today. Those classes also include all Head Start/Early Head Start and Title I preschool programs.
All-day kindergarten classes will be in session and follow the two-hour late start associated with elementary schools

The Salt Lake City School District said it plans to have classes start at their regular time Thursday.
