With places to go and people to see, long lines are feeling even longer to many passengers in Salt Lake.
“l got here at 2:30 this morning,” said Shane Wagoner.
Wagoner said he was trying to fly to Texas to help a friend move. Right now, he’s the one not moving, though.
“I’m ready for a power nap, yeah,” said Wagoner.
In the meantime, he’s found a comfy spot to sit.
One canceled flight and a delayed-at-best flight later, he’s on track to still make it down to Texas on Monday.
More than 2,500 US flights canceled the day after Christmas so far
“Until then, I just sit here and wait and wait…Trying to get out of here when I can — if I can,” said Wagoner.
Katie Edwards and her young family are also running into canceled flight status.
“We’re trying to rebook online, and it says there’s nothing available. So yeah, waiting in this long line to see what they can do,” said Edwards.
En route to California where they have planned to see family they don’t normally get to see, she and her family are debating renting a car and driving the 12 some hours.
“We’ve got three little kids. We’ve got some iPads, and I think we do OK. We love treats so I guess we’ll just see. Fingers crossed yeah,” said Edwards.
Edwards since said she and her family decided to rent a car and make the drive to California.
