$10K reward for information on missing American Fork woman

AMERICAN FORK— New video shows who police believe is Jerika Binks, a woman who vanished February 18, while out for a run.

“It’s a little frustrating to see very little evidence like this,” said Sgt. Spencer Cannon with the Utah County Sheriff’s office.

Jerika Binks vanished February 18, while out for a run

The surveillance video captures who police believe is Binks, on the day she disappeared.

“She’s dressed like Jerika would dress and is running from south to north in front of the Utah State Development center,” Cannon said.

Shortly after the video was taken, Cannon said cell phone data showed Binks location was near the mouth of American Fork Canyon. But as for evidence, that’s about all they have to go on.

“We haven’t found any evidence to suggest what happened to her, or where she is,” Cannon said.

Binks was living in a residential sober living facility. She had been there for a couple months according to Cannon, and was “progressing well.”

“You have to meet certain rules to be there, she was meeting all those rules,” said Cannon.

No activity was detected from Binks’ phone — the only belonging she took with her — or on her bank account. Foul play has not been ruled out in her disappearance.

Binks’ family has searched for the 24-year-old with several volunteers and the Utah County Sheriff’s Office Search and Rescue team, however now many of the search efforts have been exhausted.

The Fast Gas convenience store, located at 312 N West State Rd. in American Fork, has been collecting reward money. Since February they have raised $5,000. That reward was recently matched by an anonymous donor. A $10,000 reward now stands for anyone who has information that leads to Binks’ whereabouts.

“We’re hoping the reward money will spark new leads,” Cannon said.
