OGDEN, Utah – Residents from at least a dozen units were displaced overnight after a fire in an apartment building, and fire crews returned hours later after more smoke was reported.
Calls came in Monday night just before 7 p.m. reporting smoke coming from one of the apartments on 24th Street near Lincoln Avenue.
Firefighters were able to extinguish the blaze, and no injuries were reported.
Early Tuesday, firefighters were called back to the scene after the owner said he saw smoke coming from the insulation in the attic.

Twelve of the apartment units had to be evacuated Tuesday evening. The Red Cross is helping those residents and their pets find a new place to stay.
Kirsten Stuart with the Red Cross said the organization will work with each of the residents on a case-by-case basis, so if any of them need more long-term assistance, it can be provided.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
