UHP: Speed, Weather Contributed To Deadly I-15 Crash

BEAVER, Utah – Utah Highway Patrol troopers are saying a hail storm and speed were both contributing factors in a deadly crash on I-15.
The crash happened Monday afternoon at mile post 110.
Officials said a red Dodge Durango was driving northbound when it skidded out of control on a layer of hail. The vehicle was reportedly going too fast for the conditions, and it ended up rolling onto its side and hitting a freeway sign.
There were two women inside the Durango, and both were wearing seatbelts. However, the crash into the sign caused extensive damage to the roof, and the impact killed the passenger.
The driver was transported to Beaver Valley Hospital with minor injuries.
