Woman Killed While Clearing Trees In Summit County

MANOR LANDS, Utah – A woman was killed when she was clearing trees at her cabin in the Manor Lands area on Tuesday, police said.
Lt. Andrew Wright of Summit County said the 74-year-old woman and her husband invited a scout group from Salt Lake City to help haul away debris when they cleared trees from the area. The scout group left, and she continued to cut trees. She never showed up to expected appointments. When the scout leader returned, they found her in the area where she had been cutting down the trees.
Police say she was working on a tree that had another dead tree leaning against it. That tree came down and hit her on the head, and she received fatal injuries.
The woman was a full-time resident of West Valley. the name of the woman is not being released as family members are being notified of the accident.
