BOUNTIFUL, Utah – An early-morning fire quickly spread in Davis County, forcing the evacuations of up to 400 homes, officials said.

Bountiful City officials said evacuations orders and road closures will remain in place through the night. The area will be reassessed in the morning and officials will then decide if it is safe to open the area.

UPDATE:
The evacuation order will remain in place and the same streets will remain closed through the night to ensure that all hot spots are extinguished. Noon
Bountiful City tweeted to remind residents that the evacuation order was still in place for certain areas.

10:30 a.m.
Bountiful Police Lt. Dave Edwards announced a boundary change for evacuations in Bountiful. Evacuations remain in place for those living east of 900 East to the edge of the city and north of 900 North to the edge of the city.
Bountiful City tweeted to make sure residents knew the evacuation had not been lifted.

Centerville evacuations have been lifted. However, some roads remained closed to non-residents.
Fire authorities are lifting evacuation order in Centerville. Island View Drive will remain closed to non-residents. Residents may return to their homes in Centerville.

Bountiful City said evacuations will be reevaluated at 9 a.m.
“We are hoping the weather and wind will cooperate to make it safe to go home,” the city tweeted.

Centerville Police tweeted that evacuation zones are still in effect.
As per SDMFD the current evacuation zones will remain in effect until further notice.

6:10 a.m.
Davis School District sent a letter to families stating that “the fire has not affected our schools, so schools will be open today.”
The area between 400 North and 1600 North and the area east of 900 East is closed, so school buses will not be traveling on those streets.
“Students in that area who normally rely on a school bust to go to school will not be picked up,” according to the statement.
“If you, as a parent, feel conditions are unsafe for your child to attend school, please keep them home. As always, teachers will work with your child regarding any work they may miss due to their absence.”

Bountiful city has put soft closures in place for areas between Pages Lane and 400 North, and areas from 400 East to 900 East. This means only drivers with proof of residency will be allowed to access these roads.

Fire authorities began evacuations on the east side of Island View Drive to 550 South shortly after 4 a.m.

The initial evacuation area included homes located north of 400 North and east of 800 East.
Two shelters have been set up for those evacuated. Dedicated telephone lines have also been established for instructions and to answer questions.
