KSL Weather Alert: Winter Storm Warning In Effect For Wednesday – Saturday

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – The National Weather Service on Tuesday issued a winter storm warning for most of Utah beginning Wednesday at 4 a.m.

The winter storm warning will last until 10 a.m.  Saturday, and it includes the Wasatch Front, the Wasatch Back, and most of the state’s northern and western counties.

KSL meteorologist Grant Weyman said the storm is expected to come in two waves. The first will be early Wednesday morning, and the second wave will come early Friday.

According to the NWS, heavy snow is expected, with a total accumulation of between 5 – 10 inches on the valley floors and between 8 – 18 inches on the benches.

“Travel could be very difficult to impossible,” NWS warns. “… If you must travel, keep an extra flashlight, food, and water in your vehicle in case of an emergency.”

According to KSL Weather, most of Utah will see snow Wednesday. Portions of Washington County will get rain.

“The storm picks up steam and brings more snow Thanksgiving Day and Black Friday,” Weyman said. “Better weather for travel is expected over the weekend.”
