Body Cam Footage, 911 Call Released From October Officer-Involved Shooting In Ogden

OGDEN, Utah – KSL has obtained the 911 tapes and body camera showing what happened leading up to the police shooting of an 18-year-old man in October.
A case worker called 911 to report the teen who was armed with a gun had threatened to kill himself.
He was shot by police and survived.
“… That girlfriend texted this young man’s mother and said that he had reported to her that he said goodbye and that he was going to go to the family home at thee address I just gave you (to) get the shotgun …” according to the call.
In body camera video, officers can be seen approaching a home in the area of 5th Street and Gramercy Avenue. As they reach the back door, the suspect, Gavin Johansen, comes up the stairs.
Police said Johansen had a gun and a knife in his hands. When emerged holding the weapons, officers fired five shots.
The gun the suspect was holding turned out to be an Airsoft Gun.
Johansen sustained non-life-threatening injuries. He is facing multiple charges, including aggravated assault against a police officer.
