Gunman Still At Large After Deadly Drive-By Shooting In West Jordan

WEST JORDAN, Utah – Authorities on Thursday responded to a homicide in West Jordan near Mountain Shadows Elementary School.
The incident unfolded in the area of 7000 South and 5200 West at approximately 2 a.m. when a crash happened between a Mercedes-Benz van and a Cadillac.
A neighbor said he heard gunfire, looked out the window, and saw the victim deceased in the road.

Police told KSL that the victim was a man in his 20s – 30s. He was apparently the victim of a drive-by shooting.
The victim’s identity has not yet been released.
“We believe this was a targeted act,” said West Jordan Police Lt. Richard Bell. “We don’t think this was random. I don’t think there’s anything the public needs to worry about.”
Class continued at Mountain Shadows Elementary later in the morning. The WJPD supplied the school district with five additional crossing guards to help escort children around the homicide scene.
Authorities say the shooter is still at large, and they are looking for a four-door Cadillac CTS that’s a white-gray color and has extensive damage to the rear passenger side.
