Multiple Power Outages, Crashes Reported During High Wind Warning

FARMINGTON, Utah – Rocky Mountain Power crews are responding to multiple outages while two crashes were causing heavy delays along Interstates 80 and 84 Wednesday morning.
I-80 Crash At Mouth Of Parley’s Canyon
Lt. Nick Street with the Utah Highway Patrol said westbound I-80 has been closed at the mouth of Parley’s Canyon due to a crash involving a semi-truck hauling tractor parts.

The driver lost control of the truck and veered to the right, hitting the concrete barrier. Street said the impact sent the trailer over the concrete barrier, and it came to a rest on its side.
Westbound lanes are expected to be closed for two or three hours. Traffic was being diverted off I-80 to eastbound I-215 at Exit 130.
I-84 Crash In Box Elder County
Street also said a jackknifed semi-truck has forced Utah Department of Transportation crews to close westbound I-84 about 19 miles north of the I-15 junction.
Snow was reported in the area and the truck was blocking all lanes, with several semi-trucks behind it that could not move.
Crews were able to clear the crash around 7:20 a.m. and all lanes have reopened.
Power Outages In Northern Utah
About 2,000 customers were without power between Salt Lake City and Brigham City Wednesday morning.

Over half of those customers were in Farmington, while officials in Bountiful said four areas of the city were without power due to pole fires.
Around 1,500 customers in the Ogden area lost power earlier Wednesday morning, but it has since been restored.
